Alasdair O'Dell

Alasdair studies Marine and Freshwater Biology at the University of Hull (BSc) and recently submitted his PhD titled ‘Scotland’s blue carbon: the contribution from seaweed detritus’. Main academic interests include the biological processes and ecology of underwater life such as coral and kelp, the analysis of sediments using biomarkers including eDNA extraction and the restoration of natural ecosystems. Currently working on understanding the impacts of seaweed aquaculture on direct and adjacent sediments.
