Sophie has a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Exeter. She joined the Scottish Government in 2017, working first as an Agricultural Officer in the Rural Payments and Inspections Division, before moving to Brussels in 2018 to work in the Scottish Government EU Office as Policy Advisor for Environment and Transport. Sophie is now Marine Scotland's policy lead for climate change and provides the secretariat for the Scottish Blue Carbon Forum
